Evergreen is one of the larger towns of Colorado located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountain Front Range about 30 minutes west of Denver, surrounded by ponderosa and douglas-fir pine forests. Evergreen’s historic Main Street known as “The Boardwalk,” located on the northern shore of Evergreen Lake, is home to over 40 boutique shops, fine arts, coffee shops, bistros, and over 20 restaurants. Evergreen Lake Park is a pristine 55-acre lake and is the town’s seasonal recreational jewel. Boating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking and picnicking are common in the summer, while ice fishing and skating are popular in the winter. The park hosts live music events in the summer with the Evergreen Lake Summer Concert Series. Evergreen Lake is by no means the only recreational activity, as Evergreen is surrounded by hiking trails including Three Sisters Park, and is in close proximity to Mt. Evans which is one of fifty-eight peaks that rise over 14,000 feet in elevation. Mt. Evans features a winding but drivable road to the peak, Maxwell Falls, a 76-foot cascading waterfall, and much more. Evergreen hosts multiple community events throughout the year including a Winter Festival with a ski and snowboard rail jam competition, an ice bike race, and night-time fireworks. Each summer, a two-day summer rodeo comes to town in June, as well as the Evergreen Jazz Festival in July.
