Welcome to Arvada

Arvada ranked as one of “The Coolest Suburbs in America” by Apartment Therapy, and for good reason.

Olde Town Arvada, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is home to a wide variety of boutiques, galleries, restaurants, breweries and even a winery. Olde Town, also known as the “Gateway to the Rockies,” is rich with historical landmarks such as the Arvada Flour Mill and Gallery 1874, the city’s oldest building. Gallery 1874 is a popular event venue and has a gallery featuring the work of six local Arvada-based artists. The ceiling is covered in hand-finished gold - a historical nod to the first nugget of gold found in Arvada which kick-started the Colorado Gold Rush - and has chandeliers made of Swarovski crystals.

Looking for fun all year round? Olde Town Arvada has you covered. The community hosts First Friday Art Walks, a summer Farmers’ Market, Flicks in the Square on Fridays in August, as well as fun events surrounding holidays like its annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival, Halloween trick-or-treat fest, the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting in Town Square and many more family-friendly holiday festivities.

Another community staple is the Arvada Center for Arts and Humanities, which is the largest arts venue in Colorado outside of Denver. Visual arts are showcased year-round and the indoor stage hosts award-winning talent including actors, singers, and dancers. The outdoor amphitheater holds shows throughout the summer featuring bands, the symphony orchestra, and the Colorado Ballet.

Arvada has an excellent sense of community. It has some of the highest-rated public schools in the state and is booming economically. Getting outdoors is a breeze with more than 125 miles of trails accessible to hikers, bikers, and horseback riders, and parks spread throughout the neighborhoods. The close proximity to Denver offers Arvada residents all of the perks of living near a large city, while enjoying the small-town dream.

The City of Arvada is located just 10 miles to the north of downtown Denver and is the fourth light rail stop on the G-Line from downtown Denver’s Union Station.
